I’m an experienced high school English teacher with a penchant for writing and a passion for helping students reach their academic goals. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and my Master’s degree in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I also have several years of professional editorial experience for the popular parenting website, Lucie’s List, and the sustainable life-style blog, The Eco Edit. My goal as a college essay coach is to help students find their individual voices through a writing process based on constructive feedback and reflective conversations. 

I approach the college essay as a piece of creative writing through which an individual creates meaning from an experience — even one that at first glance may seem insignificant. I’ve coached hundreds of students through the process of building a meaningful personal essay from the seed of an idea, revising their drafts for clarity and concision, and then meticulously proofreading for grammar and mechanics. I look forward to helping you create a college essay about which you can feel both confident and proud!

I’m a full-time writer with a background in teaching and school counseling. I love working one-on-one with students as they navigate the challenges of the college application process. I’m especially passionate about helping students examine who they are and express themselves through personal narrative.

The college essay can be scary, but it’s also a rewarding opportunity for you to think deeply about your goals and motivations. I’ve witnessed my students discover important pieces of themselves through this writing process.

I also help students develop an eagle eye for grammar, syntax, and mechanics, so they can produce the most polished piece of writing possible. Good writing happens through continuous revision, and I’m excited to guide you through the creative process from start to finish!
